Next Chapter Functional Medicine was founded to create an all-encompassing holistic healing experience for our patients. It is our mission is to restore each individual to their optimal state of health. To do that, we partner with each patient in creating individualized holistic treatment plans which take into account the patient’s internal and external environments. In addition to performing advanced diagnostic testing and interpretation, we acknowledge and treat drivers of disease that can’t be uncovered by labs.

"I bring more than 30 years of clinical experience in both academic medicine and community practice to a new chapter in my career"
My approach has shifted from traditional family medicine to a more integrative, whole-person model of care
Lasting health requires looking beyond symptoms to understand the influence of genetics, environment, lifestyle, and nutrition
Whether you are navigating a chronic condition or seeking to optimize your health, I invite you into a partnership where we work together to understand what is affecting your health
Together, we will create a practical path toward a healthier next chapter

"I didn’t always imagine a future in medicine; in middle school, I dreamed of becoming a legal secretary. That vision shifted in high school when science, especially the intricate design of the human body, captured my attention. Watching my grandmother quietly struggle with diabetes and a stroke planted questions that redirected my path. Growing up in rural Pennsylvania without female physician role models, I didn't see medical school as an option until college, when a female friend confidently planned to attend. Choosing osteopathic medical school felt natural. Osteopathic medicine taught me to care for the whole person, not just symptoms, to listen deeply, partner with patients, and understand the body as an interconnected system."
"For many years, I practiced fairly conventional family medicine, and I enjoyed it, but over time, something felt incomplete. I realized I had spent much of my career managing symptoms when what I truly wanted was to help people address the root issues driving their health concerns. When I discovered Functional Medicine, it felt like a light turned on. It didn't replace my osteopathic training; it completed it by giving me a framework to look deeper and ask better questions, rather than practicing quick-fix 'drive-thru medicine'."
"My journey has been personal as well. For years, I struggled with my weight until osteoarthritis requiring cervical spine surgery and a diagnosis of prediabetes revealed a deeper issue: chronic inflammation. This realization shaped my core mission to restore order and balance, first in my own health and then in the lives of those who come through my door. I believe God has been shaping and refining my skills over many years to bring me to this place, and I now see health and illness through a Functional Medicine lens, because once you know, you cannot unknow.
This work is not just a career shift; it is a calling. Today, as a senior citizen, I am intentionally relaunching my career into this next chapter. It doesn't feel like work, but an adventure where I genuinely love digging in, solving complex health puzzles, and helping people build a more sustainable, healthier life. If you’ve spent years treating symptoms and are ready to explore root causes, I would be honored to be part of your next chapter. You may not fully understand my approach yet, but once we meet, you will. I care deeply, I listen closely, and I am fully invested in helping you live better.
This is my next chapter, and I would be honored to walk alongside you as you step into yours."
Medical Background: I am a dual board-certified family physician, having earned my Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Westminster College, New Wilmington, PA, and my medical degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. I then completed my Family Medicine residency at St. Elizabeth's Hospital Medical Center in Youngstown, Ohio.
Functional Medicine: To deepen my ability to help patients, I became a certified provider through The Institute for Functional Medicine in 2023 and completed the Kalish Institute Mentorship in 2025. Because I believe in always learning, I am currently completing additional certification training through the Metabolic Mentor University.
Teaching & Mentorship: My career has always blended patient care with a passion for teaching. After serving as a faculty physician early in my career, I returned to academia in 2012 to serve as adjunct faculty for the Campbell School of Osteopathic Medicine. It is a privilege to help shape and mentor the next generation of doctors.

Helping people has always been my passion and healthcare has been my career of choice. Work experiences in laboratory services, recreational therapy, case management, neuro ICU, labor & delivery, and surgical services, have strengthened my clinical skills and deepened my understanding of how complex, and interconnected, the body truly is.
My journey into Functional Medicine began in 2013, when I sought answers for my own health. That personal experience inspired me to learn more and become an IFM Certified Practioner (IFMCP) through the Institute for Functional Medicine. To ensure that you receive the highest quality of care, I continue to expand the tools I bring to my patients through continuing education and with additional training in homeopathy, nutrition, and nurse coaching.
Today, I combine years of clinical experience with a whole person, integrative approach, helping individuals understand root causes of their symptoms and supporting them with compassionate, evidence informed care.
My desire is to help each person find their unique “you” and to guide them along their health and wellness journey.
A Partnership in Healing: Instead of just treating your symptoms, we work with you to find the root cause. At Next Chapter Functional Medicine, we view you as a whole person, not just a list of complaints. We partner with you to truly listen to your story, understand your goals, and see how all parts of your body work together. By uncovering deeper imbalances, we can create a personalized, lasting plan to help you heal.
Personalized, Science-Informed Care: Everyone's health journey is different. We look at the big picture: how your genetics, environment, daily habits, food, and stress all combine to affect your well-being over time. By looking closely at your health and working as a team, we help you take charge of your own healing. Whether you want to prevent future illness, feel your best today, or find answers for stubborn health issues that haven't improved with standard treatments, we are here to guide you with trusted science. If you ever need care outside my expertise, I will gladly connect you with the right specialist for your needs.
